Found Word of the Day: AAFLLNOV

FLAVANOL  a derivative of flavone
A couple things to note:
First,
FLAVANONE(S)
FLAVIN(E)(S)
FLAVONE(S)
FLAVONOID(S)
FLAVONAL(S)
and.... FLAVOPROTEIN(S)!!!!
Secondly,
Hershey's 'Special Dark' chocolate may be the worst chocolate I've ever tasted. The only reason I ate it was because it was free, and even then I felt ripped off.
I partly salvaged it by eating it with strawberries and tequila. Even regular Hershey's chocolate tastes better.
Third,
I'm no graphic design expert, but did they do an awful job with the word spacing on that little circle or what?

Cancun found word of the day

AAAHIPTY

Ok, they served this fruit most days at the breakfast buffet we went to, and it is AWESOME! It can also be spelled AAIPTY, and is often called DRAGONFRUIT* (sadly, with the asterisk.) Taste and consistency of a less citrusy kiwi fruit. If anyone knows of somewhere in the U.S. that sells these, I'm all ears.

Found word of the day: ILOOPPRS

PROPOLIS a resinous substance used as cement by bees (pl. -LISES)

So I'm currently down in Cape Hatteras, NC with my brother and dad- and I borrowed my brother's Trader Joe brand toothpaste. All I have to say is, I like fennel in sausage, but not in toothpaste. Kevin hates it, too, but refuses to throw it away, so I figured I'd help him speed up the tube-emptying process.

I also found an amusing 'scrabble word-sighting' on a bathroom stall at the local Food Lion, which I may or may not post before I leave on Wednesday. Stay tuned.

Pop Quiz

There are only two TWL words that end in -UTIC.

Let me revise that. There are only two that are 8 letters or less. (Actually, they are both 8s.)

Do you know them?

Somehow I've managed to stumble across both of them in the last month.

The first one may be the coolest word I've learned since UINTAITE.

First one to post the answer in a comment wins.

LOL

Here's some fun words that end in LOL:

ATENOLOL a drug to treat hypertension

LINALOL linalool (a fragrant alcohol) .....I knew this one, but not the -LOOL spelling.

SALOL a chemical compound (OLLAS)

SANTALOL sandalwood oil ....... or, Santa Laughs Out Loud.

TALLOL a resinous liquid

THEELOL estriol (an estrogen) .....alt spelling of ESTRIOL- who knew?

TIMOLOL a drug used to treat glaucoma ..... someone played this on me on Facebook. Then they tried to  tell me they had glaucoma, so they knew this word. Sure.

XYLOL xylene (a flammable hydrocarbon) ..... the word that got me thinking about this entry.

Speaking of LOL (or ROTFL, LMAO,  etc.)... I have a problem. I find that even if it's the only online comment I can think of using when I respond to someone's post, it still makes me sound like a 15 year old. But the alternatives, ('Ha Ha!, 'Too Funny!', etc.) make me sound like my mom. What to do? I'm thinking of starting a new one:
LSOLTSTITTF  (Long Sequence Of Letters To Show That I Think That's Funny)

Another Crazy Word...

Here's a new one I just learned:

UINTAITE n. a variety of asphalt

Interesting things about this word:
1. All 1 point tiles.
2. Cannot be formed from a 7 + a tile.
3. UINTAHITE is also good (I assume it's an alternate spelling?)
4. The only other word (as far as I can tell) that starts with UI in the TWL is another 9: UITLANDER.

OTTOMEN*

Don't know why I thought of this today, but I thought it would be funny
if the plural of OTTOMAN was the above phony. For good measure,
here's the four eights that end in MANS:

HANUMANS
OTTOMANS
OVERMANS
PULLMANS
